What are limiting beliefs? They are subconscious beliefs about who you are and what you can or cannot do. They are often highly charged emotionally. Most often, these negative beliefs are acquired in childhood. An example is when an adult tells a kid, “you’ll never amount to anything” or “you’re a bad__ (boy or girl). If the adult says this in an angry voice, it leaves a powerful imprint in your subconscious mind.
When a belief has strong emotions attached to it, it’s hard to change the behavior, even though you know in your head it’s not right. This is especially true with phobias. You know it’s an irrational belief, but you can’t seem to stop the fear of the particular phobia i.e. public speaking or social gatherings.
Because of these limiting beliefs we miss opportunities in life that we would excel at if we could eliminate the belief blocking our success.
Just imagine that tomorrow you wake up with 100% self belief, and absolutely no self doubt.
